Who We Are

City of Birmingham Hockey Club was established on Tuesday 11th June 2019.

The curnent City of Birmingham Hockey Club is comprised of one ladies team, two mens teams and a badgers side respectively.

Our ladies have shared a great amount of success, topping the Warwickshire Women's Hockey League as Champions in the 2018/19 season as well as being nominated as 'Team of the Year' at the England Hockey Awards in 2019. Reaching the final of the Tier 4 English Cup at Lee Valley were club highlights. The future has continued to look bright with strong established links with Birmingham City University, with a large proportion of club members are BCU students or alumni.

The 2020/21 season cemented a merger with Yardley Hockey Club creating the mens section of the club, with Yardley HC officially adopting the club name and the CoBHC crest. This has faciitated the promotion and progression of the men's section, as well as a junior section. We continue to be very excited at this step forward whilst still honouring the strong history the men bring with them.

Although the time which has lapsed since the merger has been short, it has been fruitful. In 2021 City of Birmingham Hockey Club were announced as the EHF 'Small Club of the Year' which was a fantastic achievement by all involved!

City of Birmingham Hockey Club were also declared as the legacy hockey club of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022. Moving forwards CoB will be supported by England Hockey and the CWG to continue to provide hockey at a grass root level, encouraging participation opportunities to all.
